East End Cellars Masterclass: Skinny Dipping – Celebrating Skin Contact in Wine

We want to say this event isn’t as risqué as it sounds, but with this lineup of winemakers we can’t be so sure. Settle in for a tasting experience with Tom Shobbrock (Shobbrook Wines) and Anton Van Klopper (Lucy Margaux Wines) and discover the role that grape skins play in developing wine. Grape skins have always played a part in creating the deep red colour and sharp tannins we all know and love, but what happens when skins are used in the making of white wine? Let’s find out. Explore some of the outer reaches of the winemaking world, investigate what constitutes ‘orange wine’ and even go back in time and experience wines fermented in amphorae.
