Not usually open to the public, owner Jacques Lurton will personally open the gates for a tour of the vineyards, the winery where concrete vats store the precious elixirs and to sample the new IEV release wines.

Transfers to Life Time Private Retreats will deliver you to a gastronomic treat in one of the world’s truly breathtaking settings. Unique cliff-faces and the bluest of oceans will coax you and an even more intimate group on to the deck for canapes and pre-lunch drinks served by one of the world’s best chefs: Norbert Niederkofler (three-Michelin starred St Hubertus in Italy) and JP McMahon (Michelin starred, Aniar, Eat at Massimo and Cava Bodega in Ireland). Then, join both chefs for an afternoon of culinary delight curated by Adelaide’s resident renegade chef, Duncan Welgemoed. First, aperitif in the shade of Hannaford and Sachs magical Fig Tree before settling in for a full service lunch at the Shearing Shed. The best local products from seafood to lamb will be on the menu to give you a taste of the true KI.

As the sun drops toward the Southern Ocean, you can enjoy the perfect afternoon nip (or two); local Kangaroo Island Spirits gin produced by Australian industry heavyweight Jon Lark, and the wares of his equally esteemed brother – Tasmanian whisky maker Bill Lark
