TASTING AUSTRALIA FESTIVAL DRINKS CURATOR

Banjo Harris Plane is a wine professional whose background spans fine dining restaurants, international wine imports and sales.

Born and bred in Adelaide, he worked across interstate and international restaurants before five years as manager of the globally acclaimed Attica in Melbourne – a stint that saw him twice named Australia’s best sommelier.

Harris Plane went on to open two of his own Melbourne hospitality venues: the wine bar-bistro Bar Liberty and neighbourhood Italian restaurant Capitano. During this time he also launched fine wine import business REAL Wines.

Today he focuses on growing Good Pair Days, an online wine business that he co-founded in 2016. It was named online liquor retailer of the year in 2019 and expanded to the United Kingdom two years later.

A constant student of wine, Harris Plane is also a recognised wine judge and chaired The Adelaide Review Hot 100 for three years. He relocated to Adelaide in 2019 alongside wife Meira Harel and their two young children.
