Champion of regional dining
When chef Aaron Turner opened Igni in a former Geelong electrical goods showroom, the industry took notice. After founding – and subsequently closing – the lauded Loam in Drysdale, his fans and supporters were curious to see what would come next for Turner – and if an extended stint in Nashville would influence his future direction.
Igni is a combination of Aaron’s many experiences and conversations with guests allowing for flexibility and creativity in the degustation menu. With a focus on the open kitchen’s charcoal grill, Igni is a place that celebrates small producers and offers a bespoke experience for diners. Aaron has also had a hand in Belle’s Hot Chicken and the Hot Chicken Project – a more literal nod to his sabbatical in the United States.
Igni has been recognised by The Age Good Food Guide as Victoria’s Best Regional Restaurant and Aaron, Chef of the Year.
