The Lost Loaf
Emma started her apprenticeship as a chef at age 15 in winery restaurants in the Barossa and the Clare Valley and quickly fell in love with the food industry. Travels to France at 19 as an au pair saw her attend classes at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. Inspired to become a pastry chef, she then returned to Australia and studied patisserie full time.
Landing a job at The Manse as pastry chef while working together with Lachlan Colwill (now at Hentley Farm), she achieved numerous accolades in 2010 – 2011 including Restaurant of the Year, Advertiser Food Awards, Restaurant & Catering Awards and Tasting Australia cookery competition.
She has since achieved a place as a national finalist in the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Young Chef competition. Following her success, she took on her next role as head pastry chef at Penfolds Magill Estate, working with Jock Zonfrillo.
Currently Emma is running Artisan Bakery The Lost Loaf in Bowden where she specialises in sourdough breads, and French pastries.
