The Prince of Pasta.
'Prince of Pasta' Mitch Orr signed on for food tech at high school on a whim and has ended up as one of the most highly acclaimed young chefs in Australia.
His accolades include being awarded the Jospehine Pignolet Young Chef of the Year while at Sepia in 2010, named Best Young Talent by Time Out while at Duke Bistro, and even featuring in Cleo Magazine’s Bachelor of the Year awards.
His latest project, ACME in Sydney, focuses on accessible pasta and snacks in a noodle-bar-style setting that takes the pretence out of fine dining, despite being awarded one hat. Orr isn’t afraid of testing the boundaries of Italian pasta dishes, by creating fusion pasta dishes with Asian and African influences, with tasty snacks and sides to boot.
Before setting up ACME with Andy Emerson, Cam Fairbairn and Ed Loveday, Orr was rolling dough and serving up delicious, fresh pasta degustations at Buzo and co-head chef of Duke Bistro.
